Today I was chilling at the pool, thinking it wasn’t that long ago that this used to be my life on the daily.
I returned to live back in the UK (after running my companies from Spain, for 3.5 years) in January 2022, after Covid, with one thing in mind: to come back to my companies, my staff, and lead from the front.
However during the first lockdown, I started another company (this one!) which required a new team, so I built a remote team that were located around the world - it was new for me; running a company that way.
Once I had made the decision to move back to the UK, I was keen to get back to “the old ways” and with that, I took on new premises and recruited locally.
The whole working remote Vs working from an office has always troubled me (I know Steven Bartlett can relate!).

The Beauty Industries FIRST Breakfast Network Event
Our first Beauty Boss Breakfast network event in Bournemouth was a HUGE success!
We were thrilled with the turnout, and the ladies in attendance had a wonderful time, exchanging IG handles, and taking selfies together!
The event kick started with our very own Beauty Boss Layla, who delivered a 30 minute presentation, and not long after that, the Prosecco started flowing!
Layla says ''I am so pleased that we moved forward with our idea of creating a space for women not only in business, but in the BEAUTY business. Of course everyones welcome, but for me, I wanted to strategically bring solo-preneurs together, who simply don't have a ''Beauty Bestie'', or a staff room to hang out in with fellow therapists, etc. Being a Beauty Boss can be lonely sometimes, so I'm just so thrilled with how many ladies connected at the event. NEW For 2023! Beauty Boss Breakfast - Network Events
This month, we held our first Beauty Boss Breakfast, a new networking concept that we hope to grow and roll out across the country, all in an effort to bring Beauty Bosses together over coffee and cake!
This month, we had our first one in Basingstoke, it was a success!
We hadn't advertised it too much (it was only posted 2 or 3 times over the Christmas period), and we were thrilled to see some familiar faces, and a handful of new ones.
We caught up over coffee and cake, heard some inspiring stories about how more advanced beauty bosses have grown in all sorts of ways since the pandemic, and of course had a good old gossip!
A highlight for me was listening to some of Layla's stories - and particularly about how she shared the various ways there is to make money in the beauty industry; it was truly eye opening to know what sort of paths this industry can take you on.
