Is it too early to talk about Valentine's day?
NO! Not if you’re a business…
I hate to say it, but there is nothing unique about Valentine’s Day, BUT! if you are creative with HOW you offer your services, you can leverage from the most romantic day of the year, BIG time! Many different types of service-based businesses do this every year, but the businesses that put real love into their Valentine’s Day events are the ones that “romance” the client!
Here are some ideas for your beauty salon:
I would be thinking more about the EXPERIENCE I could give my clients as opposed to the treatments themselves- reverse engineer your treatments through creative marketing. Of course, you can definitely offer a limited-edition service or product, because people love to try the NEW things available. But working on the experience is a great way to surprise your clients.
- I would email my clientele base and let them know that every client that looks to book in for the week leading up to Valentine’s Day, get to play their favourite love song - just for them when they come in for their next appointment (because you LOVE them, appreciate their loyalty etc).
- A client customised playlist! This will make them feel so special, and they will tell everyone what you did!
- Little hack for those of you that are removing something from your price list this new year, use scarcity tactics to ram up the revenue before you drop the treatment- name your scarcity marketing with something that fits within the valentines build up, like ‘LOVE IT OR LOOSE IT!’ - Share on your socials (especially stories- using polls and question stickers as CTA’S) and watch bookings for that treatment that without this creative strategy would never have come in- cash in before you drop off your price list, but make sure they re-book for their usual treatments before you let them leave the salon!
- Start using valentines related hashtags NOW in your content- so you can start attracting your audience, but DON’T use the hashtag #valentinesday - as Instagram will penalise your account!
- Looking for new clients? Put a valentines spin on your current ‘refer a friend’ strategy.
- Go buy some little love cards from the card factory or somewhere like that, and hand one over to ONLY your clients that LOVE you (your raving fans) and say to your clients on their last appointment BEFORE Valentines… “Hand this to someone you love” for valentines - and inside have a discount for the new client, that both new and current client can benefit from if used… it WILL be used! Why… because your client is your own little influencer, she/he will do the ground work, and you will gain a new client. A valentines spin on ‘refer a friend’.
