UK Government starts regulations on cosmetic procedures

 The government today has announced that they are closing in on unregulated cosmetic procedures.

The Health Secretary is to introduce a licensing scheme for non-surgical cosmetic procedures, such as Botox and fillers.

Here is some of the new legislation they will be enforcing:

* It will become illegal to administer cosmetic procedures to anyone under the age of eighteen.

* All adverts will be banned on all forms of media including social media, influencer advertising and traditional advertising for cosmetic procedures which target anyone under the age of eighteen.

                       

Health & social care secretary, Sajid Javid comments: “While most of those in the aesthetics industry follow good practice when it comes to patient safety, far too many people have been left emotionally and physically scarred after botched cosmetic procedures.
